Updates for November

So it has been a little while.  Super busy with work, traded in my 02 for an 07, took time trading out toolboxes and hitch, etc.  Plus a little much needed trip to Downs KS for some pheasant hunting.  Took a couple of hours yesterday afternoon after cleaning up from KS to get started on a little bit of work.

Did a little bit of tune up work to try and get it running smoother.  I think we are getting there.  Once I did that, I started taking some wiring off, then removed the front hood panel and the grill.  Also removed the exhaust pipe, cut off the glasspack, wire wheeled the rust off the tailpipe and painted it with high temp paint.  Will be picking up a compatible tractor muffler with a turndown to hopefully push the exhaust stink toward the back wheels as well as put the hush on it.

Will start taking the grill apart and knocking dings out shortly.  Then to remove the front fenders to start straightening them out.  In the meantime, I'll clean up the engine compartment, repaint the engine and components, and painting the frame.  Work on the cab, interior, wiring, etc.

But for now, the truck is missing the grill.  by the end of the weekend, it is likely that it will be missing fenders and perhaps the hood.  may look a little funny driving around the yard.  Then I bet it gets to visit the farm and remove the bed for the meantime to work on the frame in the rear, get it painted, screws and bolts replaced so its much tighter and the metal straps and supports are right.  Then a good coat of paint so it lasts another 61 years.

Good bit of work already done, and a lot of work ahead.  But it will all be worth it to have it shining, straight, and back on the road in glory.  I bet one of the first trips will be a road trip to College Station.  Perhaps join some friends for some tailgating next season.

Hopefully posts and updates will be coming more frequently.
