Well, I realize that it has been a little while since my last post. Have not had much time to work on either the truck or the blog. But a little here and there has been done.
I managed to remove the original front wiring for the headlights/park lamps. Had a great idea for the fuse panel to keep it original looking while stepping up to the beauty and convinence of ATC blade fuses. I picked up an original fuse box cover, and am going to place the new fuse box in the same place as the stock one and cover it with the stock cover. You'll never know the difference.
I repainted a distributor and vacuum advance from my donor truck as well as a coil and bracket. They are tagged and bagged and ready to install. Also, after a few weeks of soaking with penetrating oil I decided to remove the exhaust so I could get a new piece made. Well, one stud came right out, real slick. Figured the back one would follow suit. It took an easy 1/8 of a crank, then the dreaded "snap". Busted knuckle, explicatives, blood and bruises, and the worst part - a broken exhaust flange stud in the exhaust manifold. Well, I guess once I remove the front clip to clean up the engine, I'll be extracting that. Yay for me.
Spent most of this weekend straightening up the garage, mostly because it needed it, but also, I can find stuff and prepare to get down to brass tacks and rebuild this bugger. I cleaned a shelf and made room for all the parts that I have already refinished. Now, I can see where everything is. Just to remember that I have it, and how it goes back together.
